EVIE, the first product from Avialae Labs
A home that finally responds back
Talk to EVIE the way you'd talk to a person. It turns on the fifteen-year-old TV, warms the room, books Friday's dinner and keeps the family's week straight, without an app to learn.
Our mission
Avialae Labs builds technology that steps beyond the screen and into the physical world, so everyone, at any age and with any comfort with tech, can live with machines that understand them, act for them, and keep what's theirs private.
- Meet people where they are
- Homes are full of speakers, thermostats, TVs and locks, each with its own app and login. The features are there; using them is the hard part. We build for the grandparent with five remotes, not just the early adopter.
- Act, don't just answer
- Today's assistants set timers and answer trivia, and running a household is still manual. Our technology does the thing: the device, the booking, the reminder, the follow-through.
- Keep what's yours
- A capable assistant shouldn't need your whole life in someone else's cloud. The thinking stays on your own devices by default, and nothing personal leaves them without asking.
Avialae is the scientific name for the group that includes every flying bird. We're a multidisciplinary lab, and EVIE is our first product. We start in the living room, and over time we'll aim higher.
Say it the way you'd say it
No commands to memorize and no menus. EVIE works out what you mean, does it, and answers with a dry sense of humor.
I'm cold
Turns up the thermostat
Turn on the news
Switches on a 15-year-old TV through infrared
Movie night

Works with the home you have
Your home doesn't have to be "smart." EVIE talks to Wi-Fi lights and plugs and the big platforms, and its infrared hub learns the remotes for older TVs, fans and air conditioners.
Private by default
EVIE's AI runs on your own computer. Only genuinely hard questions go to the cloud, one at a time, and it asks before anything personal leaves.
Nothing to set up
One installer. Connecting an account means signing in, and many devices are found on their own.
Careful with what matters
Locks, garage doors, alarms and cameras always need a spoken "yes," and EVIE never touches them on its own.
One household, four people
Everyone gets their own private data, under one roof.
Today
EVIE runs on Mac. Our own family are its first testers
Next
A small early-access group in real homes, and the iPhone app
Then
Apple Watch, Windows, Linux and Android, and the EVIE home hub
Bring EVIE home first
A small group of households will help shape EVIE. Tell us a little about you and what you'd want from a home assistant. Every answer gets read.
